Just In: $1.2 million Ford GT MK II Unveiled

Powered by a 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 engine, the newly unveiled track-only Ford GT MK II receives uprated race-proven aerodynamics and hits an impressively high 700bhp – up from the road car’s 647bhp and the GTE Pro Le Mans racer’s 493bhp. The latest supercar is mated with a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox and is limited to only 45 models worldwide.

This next level of Ford GT performance is priced at $1.2 million (£952,750).

Ford Chief Product Development and Purchasing Officer, Hau Thai-Tang says “The GT Mk II unleashes the full performance potential of the Ford GT without any artificial performance limitations dictated by racing sanctioning bodies. It’s the closest GT owners can get to the Le Mans-winning performance and exhilarating feeling of crossing the finish line in the Ford GT race car.”

Intended for track use outside of motorsport competitions, the Ford GT MK II has been engineered for exhilarating speed and pleasure without the restrictions of motorsport regulations. The model removes the 150kg suspension system and replaces it with Multimac’s high-performance Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve resulting in optimised efficiency, ride and handling as well as 400% more downforce than the road car.

Chief Technical Officer of Multimac, Larry Holt explains “The idea here is showing what we can create from the GT platform that will ultimately show its greater performance, not burdened by the rules of racing and the rules of the road car.”

The breath-taking masterpiece will be making its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2019 and will be available to purchase directly from Multimac.
