The Korean car manufacturer has been in the news a lot this year for honourable mentions such as record-breaking sales, industry awards and 2019 car launches including the All-New Kia XCeed and All-New Niro. Kia’s vast line-up of vehicles has taken the world by storm and has transformed what it means to drive a Kia. The brand provides for every type of person and every type of lifestyle, so it’s no surprise they stole the spotlight with 2 huge awards at this year’s Used Car of the Year event hosted by WhatCar?.

The first was awarded to the Kia Sportage which won the category for Best Used Family SUV and the second to the Kia Sorento for Best Used Large SUV.

Similarly, the Kia Sorento earned top spot as the brand’s larger SUV for “competitive pricing in comparison to other SUVs in its class”.

WhatCar? shared: “It’s well equipped, for starters, and, in terms of interior space, it’s simply enormous. What’s even more impressive is it’s more refined and practical than some rivals that cost an awful lot more.”

Paul Philpott, President and CEO, Kia Motors (UK) Limited, commented: “We are delighted that the Sportage and Sorento have been recognised within the What Car? Used Car of the Year awards. Both models offer a unique option in a crowded SUV market and are frequently well-received by our customers.”

But that’s not all – Kia respectively earned runner up places for Best Used City Car (Kia Picanto) and Best Used Car Scheme. The scheme enables Used Car buyers access to hundreds of Used Cars less than 20 months old with less than 20,000 miles on the clock.

What’s more, when purchasing a Used Kia Car via the scheme, each customer receives a warranty that is topped back to the full 7 years plus 12 months of free roadside assistance. You will also receive a full-service history on the vehicle as well as the option of a 60-day exchange policy.

Earlier this year, the Kia e-Niro was named as WhatCar?’s Car of the Year making it the first electric car to be honoured in this category. The All-New Soul EV will soon join the brand’s electric car line-up.
