Ford Mustang Named World’s Best-Selling Sports Car For Fifth Year Running

The sports car of dreams, the Ford Mustang, has been announced as the world’s best-selling sports car for the past 5 consecutive years.

To many, the ‘Stang was but a distant fantasy on every true petrolhead’s wishlist but when it was rebranded as a global car back in 2015, we were ecstatic to have it join us in our showrooms. In fact, some of you may even remember getting behind the wheel at our exclusive Mustang Test Drive event back in 2016!

Its evolution is one that is historically iconic, but it isn’t just breath-taking design that sets the Mustang series apart, it’s everything underneath the bonnet too and over the years it’s just gotten better and better.

More efficient engines were added to the line-up including the award-winning 2.3-litre EcoBoost petrol, and the model saw several enhancements revolving driving dynamics that made the muscle roadster better suited to European roads.

The quintessential pony car, which happened to turn 56 just a few days ago on April 17th, has accumulated a record 633,000 sales across 146 countries since its global release in 2015, with 102,090 units being sold last year alone.

Approximately 10,000 were sold in Europe last year and out of those, 1,300 models now roam the streets of the UK.
