The Ford Fiesta Continues To Scoop Up Awards

The Ford Fiesta Has Become Increasingly Popular, Being Britain's Best Selling Car For Two Years On The Run. This Goes Hand In Hand With The Fiesta's Most Recent Award, 'The Best Supermini Of 2014'.

One car that stands head and shoulders above its rivals in terms is the Ford Fiesta. The Fiesta has won countless awards in recent years and it has once again beaten its rivals: this time at the What Car? Car of the Year awards. Keep reading to find out more about the Fiesta’s latest prizes and why it is rated so highly.

The Ford Fiesta has no stranger to awards in recent years and this year added to its impressive haul by winning the What Car? Best Supermini award. Will Nightingale, New Cars editor of What Car? said: “This really is one of the toughest awards because a small car needs to be geared at pretty much anything. That includes being great to drive, practical, comfortable, well-equipped but on top of that it needs to be great value for money. “The Ford Fiesta is easily our favourite small car and it’s completely deserving of this award. It’s really no exaggeration to say that it is one of the best driving cars in any class.”

The Ford Fiesta has been Britain’s best-selling car in each of the last three years and drivers love its combination of refinement, value for money, fuel efficiency and style. What Car? highlighted the 99bhp 1.0 litre EcoBoost model as the pick of the bunch. With CO2 emissions under 100g/km this means that you don’t pay any road tax and it offers fuel economy of 65.7 miles per gallon. The magazine said: “This three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine pulls strongly and smoothly from low revs, and delivers plenty of performance.”

The Fiesta is also roomier then many of its rivals and is packed full of technology, including Ford’s SYNC system which offers voice activated audio controls, Emergency Assistance and Bluetooth connectivity.

Mr Nightingale from What Car? added: “You also get enough space for four adults and some pretty clever gadgets including a system that can limit the top speed for when your newly qualified son or daughter is driving.”

While the Fiesta was winning the What Car? Best Supermini award, the Fiesta ST was named as the Best Hot Hatch. Euan Doig, Group Production Editor at What Car? said: “The new Fiesta ST is incredible. It’s like a proper ‘blast-from-the-past’ hot hatch with a modern comfort and safety kit. It’s got more than enough power and the way you can flick up and down through the gears is brilliant fun. “It’s easy to see why we’re so enthusiastic about the Fiesta.”

One of the reasons that What Car? were so enthusiastic about the Fiesta was that drivers get all the benefits of a great car at a low price. The Fiesta offers a great drive, high spec levels and brilliant engines at a cost that undercuts many of its small car rivals. Will Nightingale from What Car? concluded: “When you consider the great discounts that you can expect from any Ford dealer and the Fiesta isn’t just a great car: it’s great value for money as well.” Here at Sandicliffe, we have some superb deals on the award-winning Fiesta.
