Sandicliffe go live on BBC Nottingham Radio

There’s been a lot of speculation and worry about car sales falling this past year and speaking to BBC Radio Nottingham, Paul Woodhouse explained that the decline came off the back of record highs. He added that Sandicliffe have more than averaged out.

Paul explained that a lot of sales come from existing loyal customers who are looking to upgrade their current vehicle. After over 70 years in the Motor trade, Sandicliffe have gained a vast customer base which allows us to sell to people from all different walks of life.

The internet has also changed the automotive industry by enabling car buyers to research and compare vehicles before having even entered a showroom or dealership. It is now recorded that 1 in 2 walk-ins leave making a purchase as they know exactly what they want to get, compared to 10 - 15 years ago where it was 1 in 7.

At Sandicliffe, our dealerships have also changed a lot since the company started over 70 years ago. We are proud to be able to provide our customers with a sales environment that is much more relaxed and by introducing sofas, installed sound systems and iPads, customers are able to enjoy a more convenient and comfortable transaction. Sandicliffe FordStore Nottingham, Leicester and Loughborough sites all offer customers the choice to relax in our café areas which are perfect to kill time when waiting for a Service or Parts.

In recent years, not only are Performance cars increasing in popularity, but customers are becoming more and more interested in environmentally-friendly vehicles. This has resulted in many of our Sales and Service staff undergoing numerous training courses so that they are familiar with the latest generation of cars and can provide the best possible service to our customers.

Although there has been a slight decline in New Car sales, Paul Woodhouse was happy to announce that sales on Commercial Vehicles are on the rise which could be partly due to Sandicliffe Ford Transit Centre Nottingham’s relocation to a bigger site with FordStore Nottingham on our Abbeyfield Road premises.

Used Car sales have also slightly increased thanks to the recent focus on the second-hand market.

Furthermore, we can say that the drop in New Car sales has benefited the consumer as manufacturers bring out bigger and more exciting offers that result in new cars becoming more affordable and appealing.
