Find Out Why Mazda Is the Car Manufacturer Of The Year 2019

On Thursday 26th September, thousands gathered at Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth, for the 10th annual Car Dealer Power Awards for a ceremony that set out to honour the very best in the industry. Winners are voted by dealers across the UK as a way to recognise carmakers and suppliers who have demonstrated exceptional business ethic and strategy.

We are delighted in the news that top prize of Car Manufacturer of the Year was awarded to Mazda which comes paired with the news of a 10 per cent increase in sales within the retail sector in an industry which is up against a 7 per cent decline.

As a Mazda supplier, it’s been an exciting year and a brilliant lead up to this honour as 2019 saw the release of the All-New Mazda3 hatchback which went on to earn a 5-star Euro NCAP safetyrating. We’re not too far away from the Mazda3 Saloon model becoming available next month in October and the new Mazda CX-30 launching not long after in January 2020.

James Baggot, founder of Car Dealer, shared his insight on Mazda’s success: “many congratulations to Mazda, they were the clear winners this year and it is a fantastic achievement for the brand. In the grand scheme of things, Mazda are not the largest manufacturer, but they represent a genuinely unique proposition for new car buyers. Its sharply styled hatchbacks, SUVs and saloons are competitively priced, look great and stand out with high-quality interiors and generous equipment. Plus, in the MX-5 Mazda has a desirable and affordable sports car”.

He added: “interestingly, Mazda hasn’t jumped on the electric vehicle bandwagon too early and has continued to perfect the internal combustion engine, as demonstrated by its ground-breaking Skyactiv-X spark-controlled combustion ignition petrol engine technology. By forging its own path Mazda has managed to stand out from the crowd, and the UK car market is all the better for it. No wonder its dealers are so happy.”
