Hosted by actor, writer and presenter, Alexander Armstrong along with Editor of Motor Trader, John Kirwan, the evening was set to hand out 28 awards each highlighting commitment and excellence in business across the board.

Kia Motors (UK) were thrilled to accept Carmaker of the Year 2019 and upon collecting the award, Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia Motors (UK) expressed “We are lucky to be supported by a fantastic 192-strong dealer network, who all represent our brand and product offering perfectly. We’re incredibly proud of the relationship with our dealer partners which has been nurtured and expanded significantly over the years, and it’s certainly the reason we’ve been recognised for this award.”

This news comes after Kia’s record high boom in sales announced in April and has been claimed to be the result of Kia’s competitively varied range of vehicles as well as the continuous additions which keep the range fresh and relevant. Just last week, the All-New Kia XCeed was announced for a September 2019 release and it’s fantastic to see the passion behind Kia’s achievements which sometimes seem effortless to the eye. But of course, as proud Kia dealers, we see the hard work and dedication that goes into the lead up of such launches and it makes times like this that much more rewarding.

John Kirwan, Editor of Motor Trader commented: “Kia was the unanimous winner of the Carmaker of the Year Award in 2019 because of the strength of its model line-up, its close relationship with its dealer network, strong new car sales performance in 2018 and profitability of the franchise.”

By being able to offer something different for everyone, Kia continues to reap success in a time where the car industry is filled with uncertainty. Setting the bar in 2018, Kia sold over 95,000 units. Presently, the Korean car manufacturer is setting a record high for half-year sales with 53,232 car deliveries reported at the end of June 2019.
