Get Ready For The Heat with a Great Summer Car

The British Summer Can Always Surprise You. Make Sure Your Ready With The Best Selection Of Quality Summer Cars Available On The Market!

There’s little better on a warm summer’s day than hopping into your car and going for a drive. With your favourite playlist on and a country pub as your destination, taking your car for a spin through the beautiful British countryside is a great way to spend a hot afternoon.

But, what should you be driving this summer? We’ve put together a guide to four of the best summer cars to consider.

For over 20 years, the Mazda MX-5 has been one of the best cars to drive in any weather. However, on a warm day when you can take the top down and feel the wind in your hair, there are fewer better cars to own.

The Daily Telegraph calls the MX-5 a ‘delectable joy’ adding ‘the MX-5 is a pure driver\'s car with rear-wheel drive, direct steering and a lively chassis. Simple to furl the roof, simple to drive. We love it.’

Auto Express concludes that ‘the Mazda MX-5 delivers superb handling, sleek looks and bulletproof reliability at an affordable price.’

Available in a coupe and a roadster, the Nissan 370Z is perfect for enjoying winding country lanes on a hot summer afternoon.

Autocar calls the 370Z ‘seductively honest, entertaining and great value’ adding that ‘in raw statistical terms it is quite simply one of the quickest cars you can buy at this price.’ They conclude that ‘the 370Z can be a riot to drive – both as a coupé and a convertible.’

The 370Z also appears in Ask Men’s top five summer cars. They call it ‘a blast’ adding that ‘the coupe’s updated lines still work better for us than the freshened roadster, and with the 3.7-liter’s 332 horsepower performing as well as it sounds, it’s going to be a quick and memorable summer.’

Kia might not be a name you associate with a sporty hatchback but that ignores the charms of the Pro Cee’d.

With a 0-60mph time of just 7.4 seconds, the Daily Telegraph describes the Pro Cee’d as ‘a decently rapid car’ adding that the GT model is ‘is one of the most refined and easy-to-live-with sporty hatches around.

The power comes from a turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, giving 201bhp, with peak torque of 195lb ft available from 1,750 to 4,500rpm. There’s also plenty of room for four people, making the car one of the most practical sporting hatchbacks around.

The other advantage is the price. The Pro Cee’d GT is £5,850 cheaper than the basic Golf GTi and the Telegraph concludes ‘the Pro Cee\'d GT looks like a lot of car for the money...and there\'s also the reassurance of Kia\'s seven-year warranty.’

For a country drive on a warm summer day, why not pick a car which Auto Express described as ‘one of the best handling cars in its class’?

The Focus ST is the latest in a long-line of fast Ford models that bring high performance thrills at accessible prices. The newest Focus ST has a 2.0, four-cylinder EcoBoost engine under the bonnet giving an impressive power output of 247bhp and acceleration of 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds.

Autocar describe the Focus ST as ‘a superb effort’ adding that ‘as a fast front-driver to use every day, we’d rate it higher than any.’

What Car? were similarly convinced, saying ‘its beautiful ride and handling, low price, and real-world usability mean we find it difficult to do anything other than heartily recommend it.’
