The Korean car manufacturer has unveiled its latest model and it joins the brand’s hugely popular Ceed family as a fourth member. But unlike the five-door hatchback, sportswagon and shooting brake, the All-New Kia XCeed joins the group as a Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) – promising SUV good looks with hatchback practicality.

The urban crossover has been designed to carry over only the front doors from the Kia Ceed whilst completely redesigning the rest of the exterior. Of course, we get the brand’s signature tiger nose grille but this time it comes with a dual blade outline in a beautiful chrome making the front of the CUV both contemporary and sophisticated.

Completing the sporty look are new elegant LED headlamps with matching LED taillights and striking new 16 or 18-inch unique alloy wheels. Although the All-New Kia XCeed retains its wheelbase from the Kia Ceed hatch (2,650mm), the stunning new crossover comes up 85mm longer in overall length.

The All-New XCeed exudes the brand’s power to surprise by offering a sportier and more compact alternative to larger SUV vehicles without compromising interior space and luggage capacity. Take for example the impressively large 426-litre boot space, that’s 31 litres more than the Ceed hatch, and with its 40:20:40 rear seat split, the CUV provides a total luggage area of 1,378 litres. What’s more, each model in the new XCeed line-up will come with Kia’s Smart Power Tailgate as standard. For those who aren’t familiar, this feature enables your XCeed to detect your Smart Key when in close proximity and automatically open your boot lid – perfect for stress-free loading and unloading.

Emilio Herrera, Chief Operating Officer of Kia Motors Europe says “The sporty design and demeanour of the new Kia XCeed CUV makes it more innately desirable than many taller, larger SUVs. Yet it offers this without compromising on versatility, with its intelligent packaging achieving the cabin and storage space of an SUV in a sportier body and more compact footprint.”
