Ford has provided us with an even closer look at a new all-electric van that is almost certainly the new Ford Tourneo Custom. Expected to be fully revealed in May 2022, this people-moving van is here to electrify your driving and Ford’s preview video has brought a real sense of anticipation along with it.

The Ford electric van range is being bolstered with several new commercial vehicles over the next few years. The new Tourneo Custom is expected to follow hot on the heels of the E-Transit, which entered production last month. For more information, our experts have outlined what to expect from the new E-Transit.

Once the new Tourneo has arrived at our Ford Sandicliffe dealerships, it will be followed by the new Transit Custom. Then, in 2024, the new Transit Courier and new Tourneo Courier will complete the upgraded Ford van range. With so many new options coming to the range, there has never been a better time to consider purchasing a Ford commercial vehicle.

Ford has kept its cards close to its chest when it comes to these new vans. But there is more than enough to get us excited for things to come. If you have any questions about Ford commercial vehicles, our expert team is always here to help. In the meantime, here’s everything we know about the new Ford Tourneo custom so far!

In the teaser video, the iconic blue Ford colours give us just enough light to see the sleek outline and signature lights of the new Ford Tourneo Custom. Although they haven’t explicitly stated that the featured vehicle is the Tourneo Custom, the sharp lighting on the front of the van is instantly recognisable to our expert team.

This new range of vans has been made in line with Ford and Volkswagen’s joint agreement. Since 2019, these two iconic brands have been working on devising the future of electrified van driving. The zero-emission Ford Tourneo Custom is expected to use the same MEB structure as the new Volkswagen ID.Buzz Cargo.

The full-width light bar is accompanied by a glowing “E” on the bumper that gives this new van a futuristic look. The shape of the van is completely different from the look of the retro ID.Buzz. However, it is likely to use the same 77kWh battery as its VW cousin. This will provide the new Tourneo Custom with an expected range of 250 miles.

Alongside a vast driving range, you will enjoy enough seating and cargo space for the whole family. You will also receive the latest Ford SYNC 4 infotainment system and all the benefits of FordPass Pro and Ford Fleet Management. This will make the van ideal for both families and businesses alike. Discover the benefits of Ford ProPass in our expert blog.

The Ford electric vehicle range is set to keep growing over the next few years. Ford has already stated that it aims to go fully electric with every passenger car in its range by the end of the decade. This will include a new Mustang Mach-E and an all-electric Ford Puma that will help the company to achieve carbon neutrality by 2035.

Ford has also told us that they expect PHEVs and EVs to make up at least two-thirds of its commercial vehicle sales by 2030. With the all-new Tourneo Custom, the future of electrified Ford commercial driving looks bright. While there is no release date currently specified, we expect to know more about the Tourneo Custom when it is fully revealed on May 9th.
