1. Waze (iPhone, Android)

Everyone hates traffic, which is one good reason why every driver should love Waze. It’s the world’s largest community-based traffic alert and navigation app. In other words, it provides you with traffic data and road information from other drivers, minute-by-minute – and it’s free! This makes Waze an invaluable driving app if you are a regular driver on busy roads. With a quick check of the simple and intuitive navigation map, you can avoid traffic jams and save yourself a lot of time and stress. 4. Find My Car (iPhone, Android)

Have you ever forgotten where you parked your car? Make sure you never have this problem again by downloading the free Find My Car app. After parking, the app will remember the GPS location of your vehicle and show you its current location on a Google Navigation map on your phone. You can use this map to locate your car with or without internet connection, so that you are never left hanging. Although GPS is of course mandatory!

Another app for drivers that tackles one of motorists’ biggest frustrations is WhatGas. Finding the cheapest deal at the pump in your area can be a bit of a lottery, so WhatGas offers a straight-forward way to find the best fuel prices on any given day, at any petrol station in the UK. This saves you money and time. WhatGas Petrol Prices is free to download on any smartphone and only a GPS connection is required.  
 

6. iClaimIt (iPhone)

If you own a company car or are leasing a private car, you will know how hard it can be to track your mileage. The iClaimIt app helps you out with your logbook-keeping by remotely tracking your daily mileage and expenses at the click of a button. Thanks to GPS software, iClaimIt will record this data and work out the maths on your phone. It will even export monthly data to a desktop CSV for you! iClaimIt is currently free for iPhones, so get downloading.
