The All-New Mazda MX-30 gains recognition as 2021’s Favourite Electric Car according to DrivingElectric.com – a specialist electric and hybrid vehicle review site. Voters – made up of the website’s readers - were quick to name Mazda’s first-ever electric vehicle as their favourite, stirring up quite the excitement ahead of its UK launch in March.
Richard Ingram, Editor at DrivingElectric.com, said: “Mazda’s compact SUV was the clear winner in our poll to find the readers’ favourite among the new electric cars revealed this year.”
He went on to say: “The Japanese brand has taken a slightly different direction to rivals, focusing on stylish design, an engaging driving experience and sustainable interior materials rather than the biggest battery for the longest range possible. This approach clearly resonates with all those who voted for the MX-30, as does its relatively affordable starting price of just over £25,000”.
The fully electric SUV offers up to 124 miles on a single charge thanks to a 35.5kWh lithium-ion battery capable of charging from 0-80% in just 40 minutes. But the real spotlight-stealing feature of the All-New MX-30 is the SUV’s freestyle doors which when opened, reveal a whole new world.
Jump into the MX-30 and you’re presented with a cabin made from carefully sourced materials that make the electric SUV even more sustainable. Take for example the Mazda MX-30’s cork-lined centre console trays and inner side door handles as well as other door trim materials that feature fibres from recycled plastic bottles. Such environmentally-friendly features take this electric SUV to the next level of conscious driving.
Under the bonnet, the MX-30 retains the same philosophy of Jinba Itta – that the car and the driver is one. The MX-30 electric SUV uses Electric G-Vectoring Control Plus to enhance chassis performance and optimise front-rear load shift.
It has also been announced that the Mazda MX-30 joins ranks with the Mazda3 and Mazda CX-30 as it was recently awarded the maximum 5-star safety rating by Euro NCAP. Under the extreme tests, the MX-30 scored an overall 91% in adult occupancy and 87% for child occupancy.
"Achieving maximum points in the lateral impact tests, the MX-30 also scored full marks for crash test performance based on six and ten-year-old children for both frontal and lateral impact."
Mazda calls this the ‘SUV alternative for people ahead of the times’, are you willing to find out?
