Leicester Riders Through to Semi-Final Playoffs

As official sponsors of Leicester Riders Basketball, we are delighted to see the Riders secure a spot in the Benecos BBL Playoff Semi-Finals scheduled for Sunday 12th May 2019 (home leg). The victory comes after a tense battle against Cheshire Phoenix which took place at Morningside Arena on Sunday 5th May for a 4pm tip-off.

As excited as we were about the Riders making the Benecos Quarter-Final, we were ecstatic about sending our 4 lucky raffle winners to experience the game in all its glory! Congratulations to Rachael Gallop, Alfie Nikitits, Miles Taylor and Simon Carter who each won a pair of tickets to the game and kept us in the loop with regular updates and photos:

Nerves filled the arena when the end of the first quarter saw a point difference of only 1 (Riders 18 – 17 Phoenix). Both teams scored an equal 16 points in the second quarter until the Cheshire Phoenix won advantage in the third quarter leading by 8 points (Riders 45 – 53 Phoenix). That was until Leicester Riders Forward, Tim Williams, stole the show by injecting a surge of 22 points for the Riders.

The final score at the sound of the buzzer stood at Riders 71 – Phoenix 68.

Watch the highlights:

Leicester Riders’ scorers: Tim Williams (22pts), Conner Washington (11pts) Jairus Holder (10pts), Pierre Hampton (10pts), Josh Ward-Hibbert (8pts), Jamell Anderson (7pts), Andy Thomson (3pts).

A huge congratulations from everyone at Sandicliffe and good luck for the Semi-Finals taking place this weekend!

Let’s go, Riders!
