At the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, MG pulled the covers off what are undoubtedly the most technologically advanced and capable vehicles the brand has ever produced — the All-New MG IM5 and MG IM6. These two new models mark a significant step forward for MG, bringing together electric performance, luxury refinement, and next-generation technology in a bold expansion of the brand’s product line-up.

These new models also serve as a technology showcase, bringing a number of innovations to the MG lineup for the first time. Highlights include:
Dedicated 800v EV platform, allowing DC fast charging up to 396kW (10–80% in just 17 minutes)
100kWh battery delivering up to 441 miles of range
Combined output of 553kW and 802Nm, enabling 0–62mph in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 149mph
Air suspension with Active Damping Control for adaptable ride comfort
Four-wheel steering for enhanced agility at both low and high speeds

Intelligence in Motion: A Global Vision Arrives in the UK
The IM name stands for Intelligence in Motion — a philosophy that encapsulates the innovation and ambition behind the new range. Already well established in MG’s domestic market over the past two years, the IM series is now launching internationally, with the UK selected as one of just three initial territories in Europe.

75kWh 400v single-motor rear-wheel drive
100kWh 800v platform with both single-motor and dual-motor Performance variants
MG IM6
Available exclusively with the 100kWh battery, offering both single and dual-motor Performance variants

Safety is a core focus for the MG IM range, with both vehicles constructed using over 80% high and ultra-high strength steel. Additional safety features include:

Continental high-performance braking system, capable of bringing the car from 60mph to a stop in just 33.8 metres

A suite of camera-based safety systems that protect not just occupants, but also other road users through intelligent hazard detection and avoidance

Arrival Dates
The MG IM5 and IM6 are scheduled to arrive in the UK toward the end of August 2025, with first deliveries to retailers expected in early September.
