Sandicliffe Motor Group on Nottingham Road in Basford hosted a school visit this week with pupils from Sutherland House.

Sutherland House, a specialist school for children with autism is currently studying transport and chose to visit the dealership for some practical and hands on experience to support the children’s classes.

Sandicliffe Motor Group Sales Manager Chris Roper, said; “We were delighted to be asked to host the visit for the pupils of Sutherland House. We have worked with a number of schools in the area to help pupils understand more about everything from road safety to transport and how a car works. We had a great day and hope that they all enjoyed themselves.”

Teacher Sue Ellis, Said; “Visits such as these really help engage the children’s interest and attention on learning about transport. We are very grateful to the staff at Sandicliffe Motor Group for allowing us to come and look at the new cars in the showroom. We will be holding a follow up lesson back in school, where we will talk about the day and look at the photographs we have taken – this gives us the opportunity to talk with the children about their experiences.”

The visit to the motor group was to fully support the children’s classes, providing them with an opportunity to see and sit inside different cars, to visit the service department enabling them to see behind the scenes to help them understand more about cars and the motor industry.
