Sandicliffe Customer Champion Wins with true act of Chivalry

A test-drive, a muddy puddle and a gallant show of chivalry has secured Sandicliffe Motor Group sales executive James Longfield the prestigious title of ‘Sandicliffe Customer Champion’ in the inaugural customer service awards introduced by the family-run motor retail group.
James was selected from 700 Sandicliffe team members to win the award following gallant show of chivalry, during which he rescued a customer who whilst taking a test drive had a minor altercation with a puddle of mud - using his own clothing to clear the mess!
Mr Phillips from Market Harborough who was test driving the car at the time, said; “I got out of the car to swap seats with my wife when I slipped and fell in a puddle of mud. James was absolutely fantastic - a true gent. Not only did he use his own jacket to help me clean up but he took me home to change – he was a real star and is much deserving of the award.”
The Customer Champion Award is a from a major customer service initiative to celebrate members of staff who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to deliver the best level of service possible for Sandicliffe customers. Managers and team mates are asked to nominate colleagues who are the most deserving of recognition with nominations spanning three categories; sales, after sales and non-customer facing, with the overall winner being selected from all entries.
Designed to reward employee’s commitment and improve team motivation, all members of staff are eligible to be nominated under the most relevant category.
On winning the award James, said; “I am delighted to have won the award and to have been recognised by Sandicliffe Motors as the first Customer Champion, it was definitely worth getting muddy for!”
