Sandicliffe apprentice wins top award

Friday 4th April 2008

A Sandicliffe Motor Group employee has been named the Best Top Third Year Apprentice in the UK for Suzuki.

Local boy Matthew Hinsley, 20, attended the awards ceremony at top Nottingham hotel ‘The Village’ in Chillwell and beat off stiff competition to win this national award.

The Franchise National Achievement Awards are based on the whole UK dealer network for Suzuki. Established in 2003, the Suzuki Apprentice Scheme is open to authorised Suzuki dealership staff, and takes students through three years of training towards an NVQ level three qualification.

Sandicliffe has entered the awards for the last four years, further demonstrating the group’s commitment to its customers by investing in its staff to ensure excellent customer service is maintained.

Matthew, who has worked for Suzuki at Sandicliffe Hucknall for four years, passed his apprenticeship six months ago and is now working as a Technician.

Matthew said: “I am thrilled to have won the award after putting in three years of hard work. It is great to be rewarded and recognised for my achievement.”

Matthews Service Manager Pele Aceirno said: “This award demonstrates all of the hard work Matthew has put in over the last three years since being with Sandicliffe. It is a real accomplishment and we are very proud to have him in our team.”

Awards are the order of the day at Sandicliffe who scooped the award for Excellence in Customer Service at the 2008 AM Awards. They have also launched a group wide Customer Champion Initiative to encourage further excellent customer service and to recognise team members who go above and beyond the call of duty.
